A little about me....

I married my high school sweetheart in 1996 and we have been traveling the world since. My husband's job has relocated us to several different states and countries. We are currently settled in Frederick (Urbana), Maryland and hope to stay here for several more years to come. We have two amazing children who manage to bring us daily joy, even in their teenage years!

I've always loved photography but it wasn't until 2010 that I decided to turn my passion into a career. I went to school at The Visual Arts Center in Portsmouth, VA where I learned how to use professional camera equipment, lighting, and digital darkroom. I had just started my business in Family Photography in late 2011 when we learned that my husband's job would be transferring us to Italy!  

I wasn't planning to restart my business in Italy until a new friend found out I was a photographer and then it all took off from there. I started out taking her family photos and then word got out to several other American families. Before I knew it, I had booked my calendar solid and stayed that way for the full two years we lived there. While in Italy, a client asked if I had ever photographed Newborn babies. I hadn't but was interested. She knew I didn't have experience but hired me anyway. I took 3 months to learn all I could before her session. To my surprise, it went very well and that session prompted another newborn client, then another, and so on. Before I knew it, I fell in LOVE with newborn photography and was quickly known as the "baby photographer" in our community. I knew when we moved back to the States, that is what I wanted to focus on. Once we moved back, I took several more courses and in-person workshops on safety, posing, and the special editing newborns require. 

Even though my primary focus is on babies (and expectant mothers), I also photograph families, children, high school seniors, couples, and corporate head-shots. Additionally, I love to do photo restoration for all levels of damaged photographs.
